Lash botox, lash extensions, hair dyeing, gel nails. I have never been a fan of these beauty procedures. They never clicked with me. I have seen great results at my friends over the years, indeed. But I never took the time to try any of them.
But I have to admit that I was excited when Mariana from Mary’s Tricks contacted me. Because she invited me to her beauty salon for the Lash Botox and Henna Brows procedures. So I said, why not? After all, it is the perfect chance to see what it is all about.
I am super excited to finally share with you this post about my collaboration with Civion!
Civion is a jewelry online store based in New York. They have a looot of beautiful jewelry pieces on their website, so I was really happy when they reached out to me and asked me to promote some of their products.
I have always wanted to write about a makeup look in my Beauty section. And I am extremely excited to finally be able to do it! Even though I promote and support natural beauty, makeup is a beautiful form of art. And it is also a lot of fun! Moreover, makeup should be used in order to enhance the natural beauty of a person, not hide it.
Cristina Toma, makeup artist
I have met Cristina Toma at GLAMOUR Street Fashion Show 2017. She is the makeup artist who did my makeup for the event. Last week, she has invited me to be her model, which was an offer I could not refuse.
I have decided to start a new Fashion series, called “Style Muses“. In this series, I am going to choose one fashion influencer that I really admire, and share with you my favorite outfits ideas and trends, inspired by the selected influencer.
I have been following Kristina since she began fashion blogging, 7 years ago. In fact, she is the first person to ever inspire me in the fashion domain, and the reason why I started fashion blogging a few years ago. I have always admired her classy yet playful style and, even though she has changed a lot over the years, I can say that I would still wear any of her outfits. Ever.
At the beginning of her blogging career, Kristina’s fashion tastes were focused mainly on very chic and colorful clothing items. Lately she has started to adopt a darker, more rock-ish style, which I equally like.
If you want to find out more about Kristina, make sure to check her blog and Instagram, I have linked them both at the end of the post.
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite Kristina Bazan trends, that YOU can also rock and get inspired from: Continue reading →
I have always wanted a long, grey coat, it is a very versatile piece for the fall-winter season. So when I found this one in H&M, I immediately bought it, since the price was also pretty accessible compared to other similar ones that I have seen in other shops.
Nowadays, Instagram is one of the most popular social media tools on the Internet. It is used by more than 800 million monthly active users, according to statista.com. Unlike Facebook, which emphasizes social interaction and information sharing, Instagram aims mainly at our visual sense. And since the majority of the information that we perceive comes through our eyes, we can definitely say that we are biologically programmed to be hungry for visual information.
Instagram is not a diary, it is a portfolio!
The first thing you need to realize is that Instagram is not a diary, but a portfolio! People share out there only the best version of their life. Their best selfies, the fanciest food and travel spots, and only the cool part of their day. You’ll never see a picture of a tired employee, standing at their cluttered office, signing papers. Even if we are talking about that exact same employee who was in Bali last week, having a perfect life.
Nobody has a perfect life, but that is what we display on social media. And I am not saying that it is a bad thing! After all, that is what Instagram is all about. You display beautiful pictures of beautiful things and places. But it is of utmost importance to acknowledge the fact that Instagram is not the reality, but only a part of it. It is the peak, the best part of it.
Therefore you should not allow Instagram to make you think that everybody has a better life than you do. Because that is nonsense.
How often did you find yourself mindlessly scrolling down for dozens of minutes, without any well-defined purpose in mind?
I bet this has happened to you several times. And it all started out in the most innocent way. That is, you have just finished your current task. So you have decided to reward yourself with 5 minutes in which to check out the latest news about Kim K. But these 5 minutes have turned into 30. And now you are not in the mood to get back to work anymore. Well, there’s always tomorrow, right?
Wrong. In short, you lost your focus for a moment and you started looking for the closest source of dopamine. And your most reliable accomplice just announced you that its battery is 100% full.
Every second you waste on social media, you irreversibly delay your success, by feeding yourself with short glimpses of other people’s success. Staring at an image with a beautiful landscape will by no means help you to actually get there. Looking at selfies of those beautiful or powerful people will never help you get to know them or be like them. For that, you have to put in the work. And you absolutely can’t do that with your hand glued to your smartphone.
Here are some strategies to help you escape the harmful effects of Instagram:
1. Clean your feed.
Make sure you only follow people and pages you are truly interested in so that you don’t waste time on irrelevant content. A fun thing that you can do in order to keep your Instagram feed up to date is to unfollow a page that is no longer of importance to you every time you find a new page that you truly like. I also mentioned this tip in the “The Information Diet Concept” article.
2. Develop new habits.
Whenever you feel bored, try doing something else instead of avidly scrolling down the feed. For example, whenever you run out of things to do for a short period of time, don’t turn to your phone. Try finding a different thing that you like, such as reading or going for a walk. In other words, anything that sparks your interest at that moment.
3. Use social media as a tool.
If you have something like a small business, use social media wisely in order to promote it and interact with potential clients and partners. This also works very well if you are a blogger or an artist of any kind.
Also, you can use Instagram as a personal diary. That is, without having any intention to brag about your experiences or belongings, and without any expectation from your public. Because if you allow yourself to be defined by the likes and opinions of others, you will get immersed even deeper in this fake reality created by social media.
Is Instagram bad for you – Conclusion
So be mindful of what you spend your time on. One day, you may really need those hours spent on social media. But you won’t be able to get them back.
So if you need help with anything in this field, don’t hesitate to contact me. I will do the best I can to help. Cheers and see you next time!
Continue reading →
Caring about other people’s opinions is the biggest obstacle to your happiness and the thing that will constantly draw you back and keep you from progressing in life. And why is that?
Glad you asked.
So many people these days, especially teenagers and young adults, tend to suppress their desires and even their true personalities because they fear of what other people would think about their actions. “What will my mom say?”, “What will grandpa say?”, “How will my classmates feel about me doing that?”. All of these are frequent and seemingly harmless obstacles, small thoughts that make you question your most genuine wishes and sometimes determine you to give up on some things, ideas or even precious passions of yours because you are worried that your definition of “right” does not correspond to theirs.
2016 has been a significant year for my blog, first of all because I have started working harder on it, but most importantly, I have gathered the courage to make it public, after two years of anonymous existence. And the support that I have received from all of you has helped me a lot and has motivated me to keep doing what I love, which is fashion, photography and writing, everything that I am displaying right here, on CHANEL NO. A.
Here are some of the most important moments from 2016:
Anul 2016 a fost un an foarte important pentru blogul meu, deoarece este anul în care mi-am făcut curajul să îl fac public, după doi ani în care nimeni nu a știut despre el, iar susținerea și aprecierile pe care le-am primit m-au motivat să continui să fac acest lucru, iar în 2017 plănuiesc să muncesc de 10 ori mai mult decât am făcut-o până acum.
Loss of motivation thoughts first, outfit at the end of the post.
Lately, I have been going through a pretty rough phase and I have lost my motivation almost completely, for a short period of time. But now I have been working on regaining it, and I have started to think about this subject a lot. I read articles and watch YouTube videos, and I have realized that too many people around me are only reacting to their lives, to the things that happen to them, instead of making things happen for them, because they have lost their motivation, and I find this extremely disappointing. I have always been the type of person who loved rainy days. Don’t get me wrong, nothing motivates me and energizes me more than looking at the blue sky on a sunny day, but the smell of the air after the rain and hiding under a blanket with a cup of tea or hot chocolate… priceless. That’s why my absolutely favorite season is, without any hesitation, fall.
I am in love with fall fashion, maybe because I have always had this weird thing – and I hope I’m not the only one – for getting all covered up and cozy; it makes me feel safe. When I was little and there was a storm outside, I would go and sit in the corner of my room, between the bed and the wall, with one of my toys, both of us covered in a blanket, and not only would I feel protected, but I would also feel comfortable and happy. Therefore, the simple action of switching from tank tops to fluffy sweaters, from sandals to boots and from cardigans to coats, to me, is the equivalent of opening a Christmas present. They say “home is where the heart is”. For me, home is the place where I grew up, because only there I feel like myself, I feel happy and motivated to develop myself, because there are too many distractions anywhere else. There is no place where I feel better than at home, surrounded by everything that, until a while ago, I have completely forgotten to love – the mountains, the forest, the wild flowers. To me, my hometown is the most beautiful place on Earth.
Note: The following intro is going to show up in all of my “Travel Diaries” posts, followed by distinct descriptions and impressions on each place that I have visited.
A few days ago I went on an exploratory trip in my very beautiful country, Romania. I absolutely love mountain areas and cities located into the mountains, so I decided to visit some of the most famous and beautiful such cities in Romania. Impressions: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I am so pleased with the outcome of this trip, I have seen soooo many beautiful, beautiful places, and I must say, again, that I am very proud of my country. I sincerely and dearly encourage you to visit Romania and all of the places that I am going to mention in this “Travel Diaries” series. I will also show you a preview, if you are harder to convince. I only took photos with my phone, because I didn’t bring my camera with me – and I really regret that – but, on the other hand, there are a lot of nice photos, made by professional photographers on the Internet, so I am going to show you some of those. I know that this has no personal touch from me, so I am also going to add some of the photos that I took with my phone and some that I posted on my Instagram account ( @alexandra_bulac ), and I think they turned out really well. My photos (except for the Instagram ones) are not edited. If you want Photoshop perfection, that’s what the Internet ones are for. I will just show you the raw beauty of it. Enjoy!
That feeling you get after finishing all your exams – an explanation for the huge smile.
Took these photos with my dear photographer friend, Maddie, at the Opera Park in Bucharest, BEFORE actually finishing the exam session – speaking of anticipation. Continue reading →
As I was scrolling down through my Facebook feed last night, which was my first free night after a loooong time, due to the final tests and projects for college, I came across a random post about summer dresses, so here’s where the idea for this post came from.
While searching for inspiration on Fashiolista, I found some really pretty daytime summer dresses, but since the wedding / prom season has already begun, I decided to look for some evening dresses to share with you.

It’s super easy to make your shoes more comfortable. This article is the third part of my TIP OF THE WEEK mini-series. Also, don’t forget to check out PART 1 and PART 2!
Moreover, if you have any suggestions for future posts, leave them in the comments section! I would love to read your input. 🙂
MAKE YOUR SHOES MORE COMFORTABLE
I have only tried this trick with my flats, so I am not sure if it is also going to work on heels or other types of shoes. But feel free to try it. So, if your favorite pair of flats is causing you blisters above your heel and the only choices you have are to either to throw them away or stop wearing them, think again! I have learned this trick from one of my friends a long time ago, and it works perfectly for me. It’s the best way to make your shoes more comfortable.
In this article, I will share my easy beauty tips to be followed every single day. This is the second part of my TIP OF THE WEEK mini-series. Also, don’t forget to check out PART 1 and PART 3 of the series!
As far as beauty is concerned, if you are the type of girl that doesn’t have a beauty routine, it might be difficult for you to begin doing everything you are supposed to do, all at once. The first piece of advice that I am going to give you is to start slowly. Go one step at a time. For instance, if you don’t drink enough water, you should focus on that in the beginning. And keep drinking the right amount of water every day for a week or two. That is until you get used to doing it, and then everything will come naturally. After that, you should start focusing on another beauty habit, and so on.
At first, my intention was to name this post “All Zara” or something like that, but then I realized that I will never have a full Zara outfit, because my feet are to small to fit in any of their shoes. *crying*
“How to stay hydrated” is the first part of my TIP OF THE WEEK mini-series. Also, don’t forget to check out PART 2 and PART 3!
I don’t know about you, but I always forget to drink the right amount of water every day. And, as we all know, drinking plenty of water, especially during the summer, is extremely important. Therefore, if you are anything like me and you tend to forget about the famous 2 liters of water per day, here is the trick that I have been trying for several weeks, and it works pretty well for me.
As I said earlier in my last post, this part of my holiday series is my favorite (also check out PART 1, PART 2 and PART 3). If you don’t follow me on Instagram, then you don’t know that it is about…
The travel makeup bag! <3
Here are some of the most important things that you have to take with you on a trip, if you don’t want to overpack but still want to have everything you might need.
The third packing list is about things you should take with you if you have planned a trip to the seaside. The items in this post, plus the ones already mentioned in the previous two parts of my holiday series (check out PART 1 and PART 2), are the must haves for a perfect holiday by the sea.
First and most important tip: USE SUNSCREEN! Second tip: don’t stay in the direct sunlight between 11:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m. Third tip: cover your skin with thin, light colored fabrics. And don’t neglect your hair, it also needs protection!
Here is the second part of my travel essentials list (check out the first part HERE). As I have mentioned in the previous post, this list contains items that you should take with you no matter where you go. As you might notice, I have added items such as shampoo or blow dryer, which you might also have at the hotel, but if you are not sure that the hotel that you have chosen offers the things mentioned above, you should take them with you, just in case.
Aaand I am back, after nine months of absence. I have abandoned my blog because my initial intention was to make it a fashion blog, with photos of the outfits that I wear. When college has begun, I did not have time to take care of my blog, but the biggest problem that I had and that I still have is the fact that I do not have a photographer to take photos of my outfits. Therefore, last year I have decided to give up on my blog and I made it private, so that I would be the only one able to read it. Until now. I have realized that, only because I can’t have a fashion blog, does not mean that I can’t have a blog at all. So here I am, bringing Little White Diamond back to life!
I know that I might be a little late with this kind of post, but for those of you who haven’t already left for the holidays, I am here with some tips for having the perfect holiday (or at least the perfect holiday backpack). My holiday series will have 4 parts, and I will make some lists with the items that you should have with you while on holiday. So, let’s get started. 🙂
This outfit has been created especially for my new and beloved Stradivarius scarf. You know that feeling, after you have just bought a piece that you really like and you feel that you want to wear it forever? Well, that’s how I feel about this scarf. Last week I went shopping, looking for a black leather jacket. After a five minutes tour inside Stradivarius, I haven’t found any suitable jacket, but I spotted this adorable scarf. I analyzed it for a long time, I tried it on, but I have decided to leave it there, because I wasn’t looking for a scarf and I didn’t actually need it, because I have so many at home. The story of this outfit is simple: once upon a time ( actually, at the beginning of this summer ), I was sitting in my room, reading Elle Magazine, when I spotted the cutest combination: denim shirt plus black jeans. In the picture, they were paired with a black leather jacket and black ankle-length boots, but I have decided to change the idea a bit, because it was too rock-ish for my mood at that moment.
I have bought this entire outfit, except for the jewelry, as a gift for myself for passing all the exams with good grades. Initially, it was not an outfit, because I haven’t bought all the pieces at once, but I have always wanted a pair of white Converse sneakers and a denim shirt and I really needed a pair of black jeans, so I decided to spoil myself with some new clothing items.
