My morning skincare routine is really quick and easy, the steps are the same: cleansing, serum and moisturizer. I hope you will find some valuable information in this article, so let’s jump straight into it.
Step 1: cleansing the skin (1 min)
Most of the time I use only water to clean my face in the morning. I do this because I feel like using cleansing lotions every morning puts extra chemicals on the skin and strips it off its natural oils. Moreover, this works just fine for me so I don’t see a point in changing something that already works well. Sometimes, about 2-3 mornings out of 7, I will use a face cleanser, when I feel like my skin is too oily.
The face cleanser that I use in the morning is the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (58 lei / 1 liter), which really does a great job. I am a huge fan of CeraVe products, they are super affordable and of great quality. Not too much to say about this cleanser, it is a good product that works for me and that I recommend. I have also tried the CeraVe hydrating cleanser for washing my hands when my skin was super dry. It was indeed hydrating (it makes no foam), but for my face I prefer the foaming cleanser as I feel it cleans the skin a lot better. It is designed for normal to oily skin, whereas the hydrating cleanser is designed for normal to dry skin.

Step 2: serum (3-4 min)
After washing my skin I will spray some rose water all over my face and massage The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum (33 lei / 30 ml) over it, on damp skin, as my friend @empoweringartist has taught me.
If I feel like my eyes are a bit puffy, I will also apply the caffeine serum from The Ordinary (32,5 lei / 30 ml) and let it get absorbed into the skin before using moisturizer. As I have mentioned in my night time skincare routine article, this serum works well against under eye bags.
Step 3: moisturize (1-2 min)
Yes, another CeraVe product: the Facial Moisturising Lotion with SPF 25 (45,5 lei / 50 ml). I apply this face cream after the serum has been completely absorbed into my skin. The moisturizer has a normal consistency, similar to that of a sunscreen lotion (thicker and a bit sticky). It gets absorbed really quickly and it works well as a makeup base.

This is everything I do before applying makeup. If I were to choose only one product out of the 5 mentioned above, I would go for the CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion, and that is because I am trying to apply SPF cream every day in order to protect my skin from sun damage.
That’s it! 🙂 If you have any improvement tips, we would all love to hear them, so leave them in the comments section! Until next time, don’t forget to take great care of your skin. Cheers!
XO, A
