ARGENTINE STEAK & SUSHI – THE BEST SUSHI IN BUCHAREST
This is one of the best places that I have ever been to, so I just have to review it here on the blog.
If you are following me on Instagram, then you probably already know that I have visited the restaurant on Friday. And the first thing that I can tell you is that they have the best sushi in Bucharest, at least from what I have tasted so far.
I have had sushi from two other locations in Bucharest: Sushi Terra and ZenSushi. These two are similar in price and quality of the products. Both of them are really nice and cozy places, with high quality food and services. But I would say that Argentine has the absolute best sushi in Bucharest, noticeably better than the two locations mentioned above.
Now let me make it a bit clearer, in order for this review to be as accurate as possible. I have tried the KUNSEI DE LUXE from Sushi Terra (sushi rolls with smoked salmon, salmon caviar and cream cheese), and it was delicious. While at ZenSushi, I had some rolls – the California rolls were my favorites, but they were not impressive enough to make me want to come back – and various types of nigiri. The nigiri was totally disappointing, it was almost tasteless, really bland without the soy sauce or wasabi. And for a long time I thought that is the way raw fish should be.
Until I tasted the sashimi (nigiri minus the rice) from Argentine. It was absolutely delicious, such a soft and creamy texture, and such an intense taste, without having to soak it into soy sauce. It completely changed my opinion about sushi, and it definitely made me want to come back. (Just found out that sashimi is not considered to be sushi. Weird. But it was delicious af still.)
I am not a fan of burgers, unless they are vegan burgers from
Sara Green, but I just had to have a taste of this one:
This is their “Foie gras and truffle obsession” burger, and it is THE BEST non-vegan burger that I have ever had (yes, 10 x better than Vivo burgers). One thing that I have to mention though is the fact that, for me, the foie gras was the star of the dish. It was the element which gave the amazing flavor. I have always been a huge fan of truffles, so this burger had it all. And the fries were delicious too.
OTHER THINGS ON THE MENU
I have ordered the celery soup with foie gras and truffle oil, which was pretty disappointing. It was pretty expensive and the foie gras was the only interesting thing about it. Without it, it would be just an average celery soup, worth 1/3 of the price. The asparagus was also tasty, but nothing special about it. A bit tastier than mine though, will work on that.
While we’re at it, I would also like to recommend you try their strawberry lemonade. As for the dessert, I have tasted their “already famous Milhojas“, which is a really delicious vanilla cake, creamy and flavorful. But I would say that it is a biiit overrated though, since for me it was not such an unforgettable dessert.
You can find the complete menu here. The food is pretty pricey overall, but it is a great place to visit if you want to indulge from time to time or on a special occasion, like I did. 🙂
Also, they have quite the Instagrammable bathroom, so make sure you check that out. 😉 I surely did:
So, if you’re looking for the best sushi in Bucharest, there you have it: ARGENTINE STEAK & SUSHI. I have visited the restaurant in Herăstrău, at Șoseaua Nordului 20, and I warmly recommend it to all of you! 🙂
