Yesterday I have created / tested something new: a delicious Mojito Smoothie recipe!
I was inspired by this article about immune boosting smoothies. I have never used lemon in a smoothie, and I was really intrigued by the idea, so I decided to give it a try! And this is how I ended up with my new favorite Mojito Smoothie!
Here is the recipe:
Mojito Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients for two servings:
- 500ml filtered water
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 kiwi
- a handful of spinach, fresh or frozen (I have used frozen, 2 portioned pieces)
- 1 banana (add a second one, for added sweetness and a milder taste)
- juice of one lime
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 12-15 mint leaves
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- 1 tbsp of flax seeds
This is a rather fluid smoothie, not a super thick one. Feel free to use less water or more fruit in order to reach the desired consistency.
You can also add one ripe avocado for added creaminess and the nutritional boost. I definitely wanted to, but I had already eaten an avocado that day, so I didn’t want to overdo it.
This is the great part about homemade smoothies, and homemade food in general: you are free to change the recipe and make it perfectly suited for your taste! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this Mojito Smoothie recipe, make sure to try it out and let me know what you think! I have already received a piece of super positive feedback on it, so I am confident that you’ll love it! 🙂
Make sure to also check out my Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie recipe, from my 5 DAYS WITHOUT SUGAR – DAY 4 article. Can’t really decide which one of them is my favorite. The Mojito Smoothie is fresh and light, while the PB&J Smoothie is sweet and creamy. But they are both super easy to make, healthy and delicious. I am planning to drink one every day, post workout or as a snack. It is such a quick and easy way of getting your nutrients in!
Send me your pictures and feedback if you try these recipes! Many other delicious recipes are on the way! 🙂
