They say “home is where the heart is”. For me, home is the place where I grew up, because only there I feel like myself, I feel happy and motivated to develop myself, because there are too many distractions anywhere else. There is no place where I feel better than at home, surrounded by everything that, until a while ago, I have completely forgotten to love – the mountains, the forest, the wild flowers. To me, my hometown is the most beautiful place on Earth.
Before moving to a bigger city I didn’t appreciate the beauty that surrounded me, but only after moving out I have realized that I am, and that I really used to be a true nature lover, and there are few places which offer such beautiful surroundings. Therefore, I have learned to appreciate more the fresh air, the trees and the views, because all of these are just memories – or life goals – for people living in a metropolis. I am well aware that highly developed cities offer better living conditions and opportunities, but I am never going to be able to give up on the beauty and calm of my hometown (you don’t see too many birds flying in the sky or mountains out of your window in Bucharest, do you, fellow neighbors?? – appreciate dat).
That being said, last weekend I decided to share the “magic” of my hometown with my favorite photographer and friend, Maddie! Here are some of the photos that we took in one of my absolute favorite places. If you want to see the story of Râușor Barrage through Maddie’s eyes, I invite you to click here <3. It was pretty windy out there, so I opted for one of the all time favorite trends for fall – layering. Enjoy! 🙂
